The doctrine of Word of Faith Christian Center - Nashville

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God.
  • We observe both water baptism and the Lord's Supper.
  • All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and are in need of salvation.
  • Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men.
  • It is the will of God that all be saved and filled with the Holy Spirit.
  • Healing is provided in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and is available to every believer.
  • The church consists of all those who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
  • There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust.
  • The return of Jesus Christ is imminent, and will be personal and visible.
  • The Trinity of God consists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Each of these statements is based on an age-old, and what we believe to be an acurate, interpretation of what is found in the Holy Bible. These make up the foundation on which Word of Faith, the Church as a whole, and indeed the great nation of the United States of America has been built.

In addition to these foundational truths we hold fast to such principals as:

  • As a human being who has been formed in the image and likeness of the Creator, you have great value and are an important part of society; no matter your color, background, language, ideas, or belief system.
  • Because your very life and existence give you great value, you are worth being heard, seen, and known. A personal, intimate, and significant relationship with you should be, and is, desireable.
  • Structure and order. Although every person's opinion is important, we ultimately submit ourselves to a natural hierarchy which has been established by both men and God. In our case, Pastor Henry Coles, Jr. is surrounded by many advisors, yet he reserves the final authority in matters concerning Word of Faith Christian Center - Nashville. Naturally, in union with this authority is the foremost responsibility before God and men for both favorable and unfavorable circumstances based on our decisions as a church.
